Answering Machine Detection (AMD)
Answering machine detection is software that allows an outbound dialer (such as a predictive or auto dialer) to detect if a human or an answering machine has answered the call. If an answering machine is detected, the dialer typically does not connect the call to the agent. This increases agent efficiency as agents are not required to waste time dealing with answering machines.
